We're getting married!

In June of 2023, we were in our friend's wedding together, and Riley was my escort (so picture perfect!). But none of this was by coincidence. Our friends, the two getting married, schemed the whole thing. We were really awkward around each other at first. We said maybe two sentences to one another throughout that whole weekend. After the wedding was over, all the groomsmen and bridesmaids stayed to help clean up. I didn't think anything would happen beyond this point. I am thankful now that I was very wrong. Moments later, I was taking flowers to my car and I heard him call out my name (I didn't even know he knew my name considering all the conversations we had, haha!) He immediately apologized that we hadn't talked more over the weekend. He was nervous too :) He kindly asked for my phone number by saying, "I assume you have a phone." We still laugh at this. I think he was more nervous than me. Anyways, I gave him my number so we could get to know each other more. After a little over a week, we decided to go on our first date, which turned into many more. On July 4th, we made the decision to commit to a relationship with one another. We both prayed about our decision and decided to trust God ultimately in our relationship. After a few months of dating and growing closer to one another, we started talking about marriage and what that would look like together. After many conversations, prayer, and time we were confident about what we wanted in our future together. On July 4th, one year after we started dating, Riley proposed! We are so excited to start this new chapter of our lives together and we are beyond thankful for the support and love that we have received from our family and friends. It's a really good thing I had a phone... ;)
