Thomas and Hannah got to know each other Senior Year of high school, where they side by side in AP Chemistry. They both have vivid memories of Thomas sneaking pieces of paper into Hannah's hair and Hannah breaking equipment for Thomas to then clean up (some things never change). After graduation, Thomas and Hannah went their own ways for the summer. Then, first week at Eastern Florida, Thomas happened upon Hannah sitting in the hallway waiting for class. He stopped, said hey, sat next to her, and they were inseparable since. A year of building feelings as best friends, a few failed relationships to help each other through, and one wild 4th of July party later; the rest is history.

July 2nd, 2020. Probably the weirdest time in the world to plan a little anniversary vacation at a hotel on the beach. Hannah's work at the hospital and Thomas' schooling had been heavily affected by the pandemic already. They both wanted a break and what a better time then 4 years together. They met at the hotel that evening when Thomas wanted to take a walk on the beach (he never volunteers that). Hannah was thrilled, but had no idea what he was planning. They walked for awhile and stood with arms wrapped around each other staring at the ocean. Hannah would later realize Thomas was waiting for the random people to clear out before he could make the move. Hannah turned around to hug him, when she noticed his heart was beating out of his chest. Down on one knee he went, and she almost completely passed out. It was the most romantic moment with plenty of tears. When they got back to the hotel room, Thomas had coordinated his family to come decorate the room with rose petals, plenty of snack, and pictures of them. The perfect start to a beach weekend.
