In September 2016, while we were both returning to Springfield College. The first weekend back Martha approached Dave, heart racing, and began a conversation that would last a lifetime. She tried to catch Dave on a fast one, but he was prepared for a battle. She asked if he even knew what her name was. Now, Dave's hands became sweaty as he kept thinking "play it cool". He decided to act like he forgot her name, but knew it started with an "M". And that was the first time David got in trouble... From that moment on, it was history. Two strangers became best friends, starting a powerful relationship filled with laughter and memories. That day was the day our souls finally found each other.

June 29th, 2019 in Newport, RI, the next chapter began. While walking down the cliff walk, Dave was watching to see which spot he thought was the best place to propose. He found a spot and saved it for the walk back. As they approached the cliff beside the ocean, Dave became more anxious. As he got down on one knee, the ring box fell below his wallet (classic Dave). As he got down on one knee, people started cheering as Martha said, "YES!"
