FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP on the wedding website by November 5, 2022.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive and take your seat no later than 2:30 and the ceremony will start promptly at that time. You may want to leave a few extra minutes in your schedule to allow for any Grand Rapids traffic.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We are registered at Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma and Target.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Cocktail, please. But we want you to feel comfortable, so if those shoes are too high or that top button is too tight, let it all hang loose.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

A block of hotel rooms has been reserved at both the Amway Grand Plaza and Embassy Suites by Hilton Grand Rapids Downtown for our guests at a discounted rate. Please call the hotels or use the link on the wedding website to book and reference the Newbury-Bliss wedding before 11/2/2022.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your kids—we really do. But we want our wedding to be your night off!

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There are limited parking spots available next to the High Five wedding venue provided by the facility as well as street parking (free on weekends) and a city parking lot ($12 max per day.) Uber and Lyft are typically always available and the hotels within the block of rooms are within a half of a mile of the venue.

Question

Where is the ceremony versus the reception?

Answer

They are in the same building! The ceremony will take place on the 4th floor and the reception will be on the fifth floor. There will be a cocktail hour with food and beverages in-between the two events.

Question

Can I have a cell phone at your ceremony?

Answer

We’ve hired a photographer to capture how this moment looks with their camera, so you can capture how it feels with your hearts. The greatest gift you can give us during the ceremony is to be truly present, so please turn off all phones and cameras and enjoy the special moment with us.
