FAQs

Question

What documents are necessary for travel to Aruba?

Answer

You will need a US passport valid for the duration of your stay (and for at least six months after your intended departure) and a completed Embarkation & Disembarkation Card (ED Card). The ED Card is your approval from Aurba's immigration authority to enter the country Your ED Card is REQUIRED for island entry, and needs to be completed no earlier than 6 days prior to your flight As of July 1st, Aruba charges a $20 Sustainability Fee for ED Cards for visitors arriving by air to the island. The card is MANDATORY, and can be completed here: https://edcardaruba.aw/

Question

Do we need to exchange money, bring special plugs, etc., to Aruba?

Answer

No! Aruba is very American-friendly. There is no need to pack special outlet converters or plugs. Everyone speaks English fluently, and almost everywhere accepts USDs for payment (and the places that don't generally accept Visa or Mastercard; there are a lot of places that also accept AmEx, although it's not quite as popular on the island) The two major things you need for travel to/from Aruba are your passport, and your ED Card (see above question for the link)

Question

What events are required?

Answer

If you've been invited, it's because we love you and want you at our wedding We know travel to Aruba is a big ask, so we've arranged for two additional parties (completely free, as our gift to you) to show our appreciation. We hope you will join us at the welcome party at Bugaloe on Wednesday evening, and the private snorkeling/sailing on Friday afternoon Both will feature open bar and light bites

Question

Do I need to RSVP to Wednesday's Sunset Welcome Party or Friday's Private Sailing?

Answer

Yes, please let us know if you will (or will not) be joining us at either or both events so we can get an accurate head count

Question

Is there a dress code for the wedding ceremony?

Answer

Beach Casual All festivities will be on the beach (unless there is a rare occurrence of rain); plan to be walking on sand and to be wearing lightweight, breathable fabrics Women should opt for a simple sundress, breezy maxi dress, or high-quality romper. And while dressy sandals are acceptable, avoid standard, beachwear flip-flops Men should choose nice, short sleeved shirts (such as polos or short sleeved button downs), as well as nice shorts (think Chinos) with a belt Avoid heavier fabric items denim and cargo, casual items like swim shorts and cotton t-shirts, as well as casual footwear like sneakers and generic flip flops

Question

Is the wedding kid-friendly?

Answer

Yes! The resort itself is very family-friendly, as well. There is a dedicated kiddie pool, kids' club, and kid-friendly shows/entertainment That said, please note that adult pricing applies to anyone over the age of 12. Please contact Traveland for questions about pricing for 12 & under

Question

It's time to leave! Anything we need to know?

Answer

Yes - you will go through US Customs while in the Aruba airport, so you need more time than you typically expect. Most days, plan to arrive at the airport 3 to 3.5 hours ahead of your flight On Saturdays, plan to be there 4 hours ahead of time The silver lining is that you will not be waiting to go through Customs once you arrive back in the US. You will disembark like a normal domestic flight

Question

Stef has lost Rob, where can we find him in Aruba?

Answer

If Rob goes missing, he is most likely with Joe Becker at Fat Tuesdays, Gusto's nightclub, or South Beach Bar - all are within a 5 minute walk If you find him, please send him back to the RIU :)
