One of the foundational blocks of Chris and Caitlin's partnership is their shared love of the outdoors. Caitlin's love for hiking, skiing, and swimming was formed through weekends in Vermont with her cousins and friends. Whether they were braving it through a zero degree ski day at Killington (Rich and Mike still maintain it builds character) or hiking up Round Top followed by a swim in a nearby watering hole, the Nevins family constantly emphasized the importance of being outside and being together. Similarly, Chris grew up spending days at the beach in Sag Harbor with his cousins and in the forests of the Catskills hiking and camping. Chris relished the King and Starace family's annual week at Caspary, wading through the river behind the house, and exploring the surrounding woods. Chris & Caitlin began their relationship in the middle of ski season, and never one to shy away from a new outdoor adventure, Chris traveled to Vermont for some solo ski lessons from Mike Nevins. He was hooked and the rest is history. Chris and Caitlin continue to centralize adventure and "Type 2 Fun" at every opportunity, eventually going so far as to weather an overnight snowstorm in a tent in the middle of Olympic National Park. What could have been a stressful situation was in fact a cozy, fun experience that solidified their love for outdoor adventure. Vermont is a truly special place for us - a retreat to enjoy all 4 seasons together - and we are so grateful to be sharing it with our favorite people.
