Amanda and Matt are high school sweethearts! They met in 2006 at Mt. Lebanon High School band camp. Matt was in the drum line and Amanda played the clarinet. They were not friends then, but little did they know that fate would bring them together several years later! In 2008, they realized that they had mutual friends and started to get to know each other. Then on January 23, 2009 Matt asked Amanda to be his girlfriend. The rest is history!

Matt and Amanda went to college together at Penn State Behrend in Erie, PA. He majored in Mechanical Engineering and she majored in Marketing. Before Amanda graduated college, Matt was given the opportunity to pursue a doctorate in Automotive Engineering at Clemson University in Greenville, SC. He moved to SC in 2013 and Amanda followed after graduation in 2014. They have been in SC ever since! Greenville is a beautiful city and they’ve had so many wonderful adventures there. Matt now has his PhD and works for Clemson as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, and Amanda is a corporate trainer for MAU Workforce Solutions. One of the best things that has happened in SC is when Amanda and Matt adopted their dog Mia! She is a sweet, shy, and loving Maltese and they can’t imagine their lives without her!

Matt’s proposal was sweet and intimate! Amanda was upstairs getting ready, and Mia came up with something hanging from a string around her collar. Amanda was confused at first until Matt showed up behind Mia and got down on one knee! It was perfect and was the easiest YES Amanda has ever said!
