(From Nevaeh’s perspective) We knew each other for a year or so beforehand, but when we went to hang out for the first time by ourselves, I went over to his apartment. He offered me a snack. I told him I was okay, and that I ate gluten free anyways. He asked what gluten was, and then started tearing through all of his cabinets and his fridge looking for something I could eat. I didn’t even want the snack. That was the moment that I realized that he was “The One”. It took him 2 years to figure it out, and me only about five minutes. Lol! (From Trey’s perspective) I had her over to my apartment, it was the first time she’d been there and the first time we’d really even hung out by ourselves, so I was trying to be a good host and offered up some snacks to mask my awkwardness. We talked and hung out for a few hours. She sat way across the room from me on the floor, even though there was room on the couch, which had me worried that she was scared of me or that I smelled bad or something. Despite that, I felt like we were having an okay time. After a strangely abrupt goodbye I was sure that I messed up somehow, but I was soon proven wrong. We’ve hardly spent a day apart since. Turns out I’m just used to everyone in Montana saying “goodbye” 25 times before actually leaving.
Trey proposed in Ocean Shores, WA with Nevaeh’s parents taking pictures on the beach at sunset, under the guise of wanting to “take new facebook profile pictures”.
