A Punjabi Anand Karaj is the traditional Sikh wedding ceremony, meaning "blissful union," where the bride and groom are spiritually joined by circling the Guru Granth Sahib (the Sikh holy scripture) four times while sacred hymns, called Laavaan, are recited. It is a peaceful and deeply spiritual ceremony held in the Gudwara, emphasizing equality, love and commitment in the presence of the Sikh community. Schedule: 9:00 AM – Baraat Arrival The groom’s side makes their grand entrance with dhol, dancing, and celebration! 9:30 AM – Welcome Tea & Breakfast Light refreshments and snacks for all guests before the ceremony begins. 10:30 AM – Anand Karaj Ceremony Join us for a peaceful and spiritual union in the prayer hall. Head coverings required. 12:00 PM – Langar (Lunch) A traditional vegetarian meal will be served in the langar hall — all are welcome.
