We met in December 2018 and started getting to know each other as friends before going on a first date. Our first date was in Boston on a cold winter evening and our personalities immediately clicked - we were laughing and giggling like teenagers over dinner! We couldn't wait to continue to see each other again as more than friends and have not turned back since then.

We got engaged in November 2021 while celebrating our three year anniversary a little early. Marleny received flowers and several other gifts from Andre. Just when she thought that this was the end of the celebration, Andre presented her with a dozen heart balloons, one of which said "Will You Marry Me - Pop to Say Yes." She was totally surprised to turn around and see Andre on one knee asking for her hand in marriage!!
