9:30 am - 12:30 pm
Optional Event
An aufruf is a traditional Jewish ceremony prior to the wedding where the couple is called to the Torah for a blessing called an aliyah. When the blessing is completed, the entire congregation wishes them luck. Shabbat morning services take several hours and it is not mandatory to be at the synagogue the moment services begin. To make sure you don't miss the blessing (which will take place during the torah service), we recommend arriving around 10am. In the summer, shabbat morning services are often held outside. Business casual dress is requested (daytime dresses, slacks with button up shirts).
8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Karen Friedman and Lee Friedman and Joe Gogol welcome wedding guests with drinks, heavy hors d'oeuvres and dessert at the Vault in the Metropolitan at the Nine. Dressy casual/semi-formal attire requested. The kind of outfit you might wear to an upscale restaurant or evening out.
