We met through friends at a time when Abby wasn’t looking for anything. Josh, however, was very interested and very persistent. Even after Abby repeatedly insisted she wasn’t interested, Josh ignored that small detail and kept hanging around long enough for his charm to do the rest. As we continued hanging out with friends, something changed. We realized we had a lot in common, including our values, our outlook on life, and our faith. One day, while sitting on a bench waiting for our friends, we started asking each other questions about ourselves and the future. What started as a casual conversation quickly turned into something deeper as our answers lined up almost perfectly. In that moment, Abby realized Josh was the man she had been praying for long before she ever met him. Josh made the first move… and then several more. Abby continued to deny him, doing her best to stay stubborn. Finally, Josh told her to look him in the eyes and tell him to leave her alone if she truly didn’t have feelings for him. She couldn’t. And Josh just gave a little smirk and said, "Then I'm not leaving you alone." And to this day, he has never left Abby alone. We officially started dating on September 25th, and Josh wasted absolutely no time. He told Abby he loved her within the first week. Bold? Yes. Terrifying? No, because Abby felt the same. I guess it's true when they say, "When you know, you know." From the very beginning, our relationship was rooted in faith, prayer, and the belief that God had brought us together exactly when we needed each other. After a year and a half of dating and growing together, Josh proposed on a mountain overlooking a lake. It wasn’t so much a surprise as it was confirmation of what God had already been writing all along. Abby’s answer was easy. It was the same thing she told her mom on the phone the day they first met: “Mom, I’m going to marry this guy.” Josh may have been used to girls flocking after him, but Abby made him work for it, and he’ll be the first to say it was worth every second. Today, we are each other’s best friends, biggest supporters, and favorite people to do life with. We are endlessly grateful for God’s faithfulness, His perfect timing, and the love story He so intentionally wrote for us. Life just doesn’t feel quite right without each other in it, and we can't wait to spend forever together. “I have found the one whom my soul loves.” – Song of Solomon 3:4 “Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” – Mark 10:9
