With the stay at home order in MN going into affect on the 28th of March, Brandon and I, along with our family, planned a wedding at the farm in 2 days! (JULIE IS THE BEST and made the farm look PERFECT). That Friday, with our parents and siblings by our side we got married. It was perfect. We cannot wait to be able to celebrate with all of you when we are finally able to.
I first talked to her at Wisconsin Point and we talked about country music. She thought I was a dork and a weirdo, so I guess some things never change. I thought she was pretty neat because she liked country music. The next school year I talked to her more because she was on worship and I ran tech team. Time passed and I showed her a funny meme, that she thought was the funniest thing in the world. Then I talked to her more and thought she had a cool personality but I was like “nah, she’s not cute.” Then one day at a hockey game I saw her eyeballs and I was like “dang she’s beautiful”, and I thought that was pretty neat. I was stuck on the other side of a friend, so I asked him to switch spots, but only to talk to someone who was 5 people away from me, but she was only one. After the hockey game we went and played games and the next day she invited me to Starbucks to do homework, but I didn't have any homework so I sat awkwardly with her and her roommate. Then I bought tickets to a concert, but I didn’t want it to be a date, so I called Natalie and asked her for advice. I asked her very awkwardly in a sauna, but she still decided to go with me. The concert was the most fun I had at a concert, and I decided that I wanted to do something like that again. A couple weeks later I got a call for an interview, and because my mom didn’t answer, I called Maddie.. So that says that I like her. I knew in that moment that I wanted to date her because she was the second person I called for exciting news. Over winter break we hung out. She made me go on a roller coaster at the mall and when I looked into her eyes I felt safe, because roller coasters are scary. But she likes them, so I wanted to go on them. She dropped me off at the airport at 4 am, and picked up at midnight so I knew she liked me too. That weekend I asked her out and we went on our first date to Texas Roadhouse. Then when I went in for the first kiss I said “send it” and that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
I first really started talking to Brandon one day at the Chi Alpha table on campus. He was tech lead, and I was on worship so he thought it would be funny to show me “the funniest meme in the world”. I did not find it that funny, but he did because it was brought up for months after the fact. After that we started talking more and I invited him to my house for games. I started to feel like he was someone I could be good friends with, but was still in denial that I liked him because I didn’t think he was that attractive. We went to a hockey game the next day with some friends, and during the game I looked at him and all of a sudden thought “Holy buckets he’s very cute” (The Lord let me fall for his heart, and then his looks and I love that). After that we talked a lot more and I started falling for him. He bought Old Dominion tickets for us and we went. It was the most fun I had in awhile. The was the first time I could see myself dating him. Over winter break we hung out all the time and talked almost every night (For way too long). The first weekend back in Duluth we went to a conference, SALT, and we talked about where we were, and he asked me on a date! A week later, we had a wonderful date that involved dancing in the kitchen (the first of many), and when he went in for the first kiss, yes he said “Send it”. Everyday of dating I learned more about who he was and his heart. His heart is the most amazing heart you will ever meet. It is truly one for The Lord and it’s amazing to watch. I cannot wait to watch it grow more as we journey together into marriage.
He took me out to dinner at Texas Roadhouse. (Where we had our first date!) We had a wonderful dinner and he was the sweet man he always is the whole time. He really wanted to see the sunset that night after dinner, and we were "ahead of schedule" when we finished dinner, so we went to Barkers Island in WI and played mini golf there, and of course, I won. (This typically happens.-He wins Mario Kart so he's gotta give me this one! Haha) After mini golf we went to Wisconsin Point to the lighthouse. This was my first time here so I was very excited to see it. However I was also nervous. (I had a feeling he might be proposing, but was talking to The Lord the whole time about enjoying the time I had as his girlfriend while I had it). We walked out to the lighthouse and had many laughs during our time there. (I am never not smiling when he's around) As the sun started to set, it started getting colder and we decided to head out. Well.. Me being me.. I booked it down the stairs (Little did I know he had the ring ready) Because I went so fast I was ahead of him. I had to take a picture for a class of the moon. As I turned around after taking it, he was on his knee. He asked. I said YES.
