we're getting married!

Brittany and I met in 1996 when our families were stationed together at Beale AFB, and our dads flying the U-2 Dragon Lady. Though we have lived on opposite coasts most of this century, the Nelson and Huggins families have remained close friends. Our story first turned into a romance in 2012, but it didn't stick until the stars realigned in 2019.

Andrew proposed on a sunny sleigh ride in the snowy mountains of Banff - talk about some Hallmark moment planning on his part! I had no idea - proven by the fact that earlier that morning, I insisted I'd just do my hair later... little did I know. There's been some family teasing about the legitimacy of a "yes under duress," as it was only 1 degree outside, that I may have been avoiding walking back through the snow.

Despite ongoing family negotiations about the number of goats to be traded, (how else would you negotiate a 21st century dowry?!) here we are in 2021 ready to get married! We hope to see you at the wedding this summer to share the celebration of our marriage (...and our booze ...and our dance moves) with you.
