Imagine... you came home from college for Thanksgiving break. All of your best friends are home too. You make plans to get together on Black Wednesday (Thanksgiving Eve). Options are being discussed. Plans to go the Crown Point Square were proposed but vetoed, and someone suggests Growlers Bar and Grill in Highland, IN. No thank you - or at least, that is what Lisa said that night before her friends inevitably convinced her to go anyway. Meanwhile, somewhere else in Highland, John and his friends were making similar decisions. Where would they go? Maybe the Crown Point Square? No, that's too far. I guess we will go to Growlers. It was kismet. After hours of talking to each other and barely talking to their friends, John got Lisa's number and texted her. Would she be interested in going out to lunch on that Saturday? No, she went shopping with her mom instead (sorry John). So John waited. Fast forward through lots of long distance text conversations to winter break. Lisa would be home for four weeks! Time to ask her on another date. John asked her to go out again, and Lisa said "How about a week and a half into break?" So John waited. They plan on going to Round the Clock for dinner. Lisa was completely panicked about this date. She was so nervous, texting and calling multiple friends hoping one of them would say not to go. They didn't. John and Lisa met up at Round the Clock and talked for three HOURS. The time flew. By the time the date was over, they were already talking about the next time they would hang out. They went on 3 to 4 more dates while Lisa was home. Before she left for school, John asked her to be his girlfriend. Lisa wasn't ready, and said "not yet." So John waited. They called each other every night from then on, spending on average 2 hours per call. One night, late, Lisa called John and said "I've decided I am ready. I want to be your girlfriend." John said, "Sleep on it. Decide for sure in the morning. Lisa replied, "I don't want to sleep on it, I know!" John encouraged her to wait until the morning anyway. So the next morning, Lisa called John and said "Check Facebook." She requested to be his girlfriend officially and he accepted. The rest is history ❤
