We met in a Human Trafficking & Human Smuggling class at George Mason University—definitely not your typical love story setting! When our professor asked us to choose a project topic, Rosemary selected “human trafficking in the chocolate industry.” Nelson, who had noticed the beautiful girl across the room, saw her choice and intentionally picked the same topic—hoping it might be the start of something more than just a group project. Though the project was meant for a group of three, only the two of us showed up to our first meeting at Wegmans—which, instead of being a study session, turned into our very first date. From that moment on, conversation flowed effortlessly. We quickly realized how much we had in common, especially our shared faith, our hopes for the future, and a mutual desire to pursue a relationship with the intention of marriage. Soon after, Nelson met Rosemary’s parents. Let’s just say, they were ready to show up at Dak Khao (our date night spot) if they didn’t approve! But after chatting with Nelson for over 30 minutes in the front hallway, they didn’t feel the need to oversee the date. On June 3, 2025, Nelson got down on one knee and asked Rosemary to be his forever—and of course, she said yes! Now, we’re preparing to enter into the sacred covenant of marriage, a union not just between two people, but one established by God. As it says in Ephesians 5:31, “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” With hearts full of love and gratitude, we look forward to walking hand in hand into this new season—rooted in faith, united in purpose, and committed to reflecting Christ’s love in our marriage. We’re so excited to celebrate this joyful beginning with all of you!
