Rebecca POV: We met on my first day working at an after-school program. We were introduced by my work partner. At first, I just assumed he didn't like me, as he greeted me without making eye contact and came across as standoffish. As time went on and the summer approached, we developed a stronger friendship that would eventually lead to our relationship. As the summer went on we grew closer to the extent of me considering him to be my best friend. We spent days after work taking the bus together and walking, building an intense connection. As the new school year rolled in, despite everyone around us seeing the swirls of love abiding, we ourselves had a tough time with miscommunication and internalized feelings getting in the way. Eventually after an unforeseen tragedy and the idea of me being in a relationship with someone else, we managed to express our feelings, no reservations, and five years later and a baby, here we are.

Nelson POV: On the anniversary of our first date, when it all began, I took the love of my life to a rooftop bar. This nice view with a platter of various foods is always a plus for us. Unbeknownst to Rebecca, I'd been planning the proposal all year, the plans had hiccups and she was getting suspicious. With the help of her maid of honor Brenee and my own mother, I came up with the idea of surprising her with a memorable moment at home. Several amazing family and friends made videos expressing their love for Rebecca and the joy they felt about our next step. My mom made a compilation of the videos as a beautiful homage, Brenee, while we were celebrating our anniversary, was at our apartment decorating the house with rose petals, and pictures from all of the perfect moments in our life-changing relationship. It all came to a standstill when we reached the apartment door, the ring already snugged in my pocket as we entered the transformed place where our life had truly begun. I played the video as she was stunned by this gesture and as she turned, I got down on one knee with the ring in my hand expressing to her how much I want to spend the rest of my life with her, my angel, my world. She said yes if she didn't...I would not be writing this lol. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with all of you.
