Nelson and I were set up on a blind date by a mutual friend. September 8th, 2018 was our first date. Nelson was at the restaurant first, sitting at a high top just off the bar. I walked in and one of the first things I noticed, besides how cute he was, was that ironically our outfits coordinated. Jeans and a black shirt. I was wearing a green over jacket, and later found out that Nelson had left his green jacket in the car. Nelson says the first moment he knew he loved me was when I ordered a Miller Lite during our date. He even went home and told his parents this. Each of us were surprised at how awesome the other was, as neither of us really expected the date to go anywhere. After all, how many blind dates work out?! Very soon after our first date, I realized we were soul mates. I was never sure if I actually believed in that before meeting Nelson. But once I was with him, I knew it was a real thing and that I had found mine. Nelson later agreed he felt the exact same thing when I told him my thoughts on it. After about 9 months we moved in together. We could tell people thought we were a little crazy, and that that they thought it was soon, but when you know, you know. And we knew 100%. We became a little family of three, including our fur baby, Ford. We celebrated our one year anniversary in D.C., a place that had become very special to us over the time we had been together. And then two short months and one day later, Nelson asked me to marry him on November 9th, 2019, at another place that was special to us, Oregon Ridge Park. It was one of the most beautiful days in our lives! And now, as our wedding day grows near, our love deepens more and more everyday. From a blind date to soul mates, Nelson and I thank you all for helping us to celebrate our big day on October 9th, 2021!
