We are what you call a Hinge success story! Adam responded to Katrina's Hinge prompt that said "I know the best place in town for Mexican food", and we started texting through the dating app. Adam then slyly gave Katrina his number to text him pictures of then Katrina's, but now our dog Winnie. We started texting some more and then had our first date on February 1, 2019 at a BYOB taqueria. It is an understatement to say that we had a great time! Adam actually met Katrina's parents on our first date, but that's a whole other story for another time. Since that date, we started seeing each other more and more often until we decided to make it official on May 5, 2019. Our love story has been growing ever since.

Adam had planned a day date on a beautiful Saturday in September: a cute boat rental on the Chicago River followed by dinner at a restaurant Katrina had been wanting to dine at. Meanwhile, Katrina had some suspicions because she knew he had bought an engagement ring (he was open about it). Katrina thought Adam was going to propose on the boat. However, during our normal Saturday morning routine, Adam grabbed the ring from its hiding spot and decided that the time was now. As Adam brought Katrina her cup of coffee, he dropped down on one knee with the ring box in his other hand and asked Katrina to marry him. Katrina showed her surprise with a positive explicit, took a second to process, and then said "YES!" We took Winnie for a long walk as a family and continued the romantic day with the boat ride and tasty dinner.
