Neutral tones preferred. Beige, ivory, tan, khaki, champagne, nude, gold, etc. The “no white” rule does not apply! Please wear whatever you’ll be the most comfortable in, it will be hot!
Family attending is encouraged to join us at the church at 1:30pm to take family photos before the ceremony.
2:00 pm
Parking is very limited at the lake and with it being a holiday weekend, it can be a hot spot for drunk driving checkpoints as well. We have arranged for transportation to and from Johnson Lake (10 minutes outside of Lexington) for anyone staying at the Holiday Inn/anywhere else around the lake or in town. Party bus will do ONE pick up from the Holiday Inn at 2pm and transport guests to the Chapel. There will be three returning trips at 11pm, 12pm, and 1am.
3:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Ceremony will be held at The Chapel on the Lake located across the highway from the golf course. It is a smaller chapel with indoor/outdoor seating, depending on how full it gets. Plan to arrive a little early if you would prefer to be in the indoor section.
4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
The party bus will transport guests who would like to get the party started with us to the nearest bar, Medo’s! There will be an open bar tab from 4-5pm, prior to the dinner and after party.
5:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Casual, swim, etc.
After eating, have some drinks and hang out until the fireworks display at 10pm. Guests are welcome to bring bathing suits and towels or clothing more fit for hanging out by the lake to change into. We will have pontoon boats ready to hit the lake! ***** TO ANY GUESTS BRINGING/CONSIDERING BRINGING SMALL CHILDREN: Unfortunately, we do not have life jackets smaller than adult small to loan out. Please keep this in mind and bring one along with you if you plan to let your children swim or go out on one of the boats. NO CHILD UNDER 13 IS PERMITTED ON A BOAT WITHOUT A LIFE JACKET PER NEBRASKA GAME AND PARKS. This is the busiest weekend at Johnson lake and they will have officers patrolling the water on boats.***** Dont hesitate to reach out with any specific questions!
5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
We will have a taco truck parked at Lakeside Country Club from 5:30pm-7pm for dinner. Our menu is carne asada tacos, elotes, chips and queso/guacamole.
10:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Johnson’s annual firework display will begin at 10pm and probably go for the better part of 30-40 minutes. Guests can watch from the golf course or watch from boats. It can cool down quite a bit after dark by the water. A light jacket isn’t a bad idea if you tend to get chilly.

Transportation back to hotels, vehicles, cabins, campgrounds, etc., will be available once an hour from 11pm-1am for guests ready to leave that didn’t drive or are staying in town/somewhere else at the Lake. It will pick up from the cabin at 11pm, 12am, and 1am. After it takes anyone who may get on at 1am, it will not be returning back to the cabin for any additional rides.
