Nelly was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Jeremiah in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Only God knew that their paths would cross, meeting in the least expected place, yet in the most beautiful way. On Sunday, February 11, 2024, at Nashville Life Church, her usual seat was taken, leaving only a few seats available at the very back. As worship began, Jeremiah walked in and passed right in front of her. With her eyes closed, her heart jumped. When worship ended, the pastor invited everyone to greet the person next to them. She turned to her left. He turned to his right. Smiling, he said, “Hi, I’m Jeremiah.” She replied, but turned around almost as fast as Lightning McQueen. Though she normally didn’t stay to talk after service, she couldn’t stop thinking about his name. She didn't understand why she felt she had to say something to him so gathering her courage, Nelly approached him and asked, “Is this your first time visiting us?” (Smooth, right! hehe) That simple question turned into a conversation, and five minutes later, he asked for her phone number. One call led to sitting together every Sunday, lingering in the parking lot long after service had ended. Four weeks later they went on their first date and On March 30, 2024, they officially began their journey together. On Friday, July 11, 2025, surrounded by both families, Jeremiah asked Nelly to be his forever at Cheekwood Botanical Gardens.
