Groomsman
Hello everyone, my name is Perry. As most of y’all know Michael is my older brother and I can’t begin to speak on how much he has done for me, our mom and our siblings. Mike is actually the one who convinced me to join the army which has changed the course of my life. He’s more than any brother can ask for. He’s a great mentor and someone I’m proud to look up to and call my brother. I try my best not to bother him too much with my problems because I know he’s always got a lot going on 😂 Michael is also one of the smartest people I know I don’t understand how his brain works sometimes😭😭 but anyway I’m proud to be your brother and I’m so happy for you and Nelly. I can’t wait to be a part of y’all special day thank you again for giving me the opportunity to be one of your groomsmen Mike.
Groomsman
Mike and I met in high school, in an alternate universe, where he was a full-fledged rapper. From owning the stage to picking up awards, the man had bars for days. I was pretty convinced he’d be touring the world as an artiste… plot twist, he’s touring the world with the US Army. Guess he traded in the mic for a mission! And speaking of missions, Nelly ended up being his best yet. She definitely got Mic’d for life! (See what I did there? 😉) Mike is by far one of the most dedicated, hardworking, family-oriented, and selfless friends I have. He’s the kind of guy who never does anything halfway—whether it’s his career, his friendships, or the love he has for his family. He leads with loyalty, never hesitates to show up for the people he cares about, and has a way of making every moment count. Seeing his journey and everything he’s achieved has been nothing short of inspiring. I haven’t met many who went as far as making a whole song for their fiancée just for the proposal video—but Mike did. That just sums up the kind of guy he is. When he loves, he loves big. When he commits, he gives it everything. And that’s exactly why I know he’s going to be an incredible husband. Nelly definitely found herself a rare gem. Proud to stand by him on his big day! Let’s all be “like Mike”.
Best Man
Hi, my name is Gabriel but you can call me Gabe. I’m the best man. I met Mike in 2020 in a group chat for transfer students from NOVA to Virginia Tech. We both realized that group won’t do us any good so we got together and figured things out by ourselves. We ended up being roommates in college for two years (survived COVID together). During that time I met Nelly (a very short bar hopping session. Story for another time). Me and Mike have shared some great memories and some very cringe moments (inside joke). I consider him a brother and a great friend. I learned a lot from him and I hope he learned something from me too. Wishing you and Nelly a happy marriage.
Groomsman
Hi everyone, welcome to my YouTube channel; for those of you who don’t know me… congratulations, you’ve been living stress-free until now. I’m JR I met Michael through Gabriel, aka “Gabe” back when they were roommates at Virginia Tech. Now, unlike the other groomsmen, I don’t have any epic stories of surviving near-death experiences with Mike and whatnot. But I do have this: he stepped up when I desperately needed someone to babysit my dog. That alone tells you he’s a man of honor… or just really bad at saying no. From afar, I’ve always seen Michael as a go-getter, a money-maker, and, let’s be real, the responsible one between him and Gabe. So, it’s honestly refreshing to see him finally settle down and set a good example for his best man. I had the chance to meet his incredibly intelligent fiancée at Zena’s wedding, and even though we left starving because they refused to feed us (still salty, btw), I could tell right away she’s easily the best thing that ever happened to Michael. Wishing them a lifetime of love, laughter, and, hopefully, better wedding catering choices.

I am Richmond. I met Michael when he first arrived in the country. He came to my home with Derrick before taking his entry exams at NOVA. Since then we’ve built a strong friendship and he’s become my closest friend. Someone I can talk to about anything, honest to a fault, and reliable. We’ve shared some incredible memories and stories over the past years and many more to share. Proud of all his accomplishments, a true inspiration. He’s also my fufuo partner.

I first met Michael during our time at Cosmos Basic School, a little before 2008. We were classmates, but at some point, he disappeared. It wasn’t until high school at Accra Academy that we reconnected, realizing we had both ended up there. By God’s grace, we spent four memorable years together, navigating the challenges and joys of school life. After high school, life led us both to the United States, where we reconnected once again. Over the years, Michael has been more than just a friend—he’s been a source of wisdom, support, and encouragement. We’ve shared countless meaningful conversations, offering each other advice and perspective. His thoughtfulness and kindness have always stood out to me. Recently, I had the pleasure of hosting Michael and his wife at my home, where they spent time with my wife and children. Seeing them together was truly heartwarming—they are a beautiful couple, full of love and grace. As Michael embarks on this new chapter with his wonderful wife, I wish them nothing but joy, laughter, and endless blessings. May their union be filled with love, strength, and God’s guidance every step of the way.
Maid of Honor
I met my soulmate in human form at Essex County. She was rocking a red blazer, natural hair, a skirt with stockings, red heels, and red lipstick on a regular day! I remember thinking, “YESSS, she’s extra, and I need to be her friend.” About 12 years later, I’m so glad I made that decision. Love you always!

I first met Nelly through my cousin Precious, who has been her best friend for as long as I can remember. From our very first encounter, Nelly’s warmth and genuine spirit made it clear that she was more than just a friend, she quickly became like family. Over time, we’ve shared countless laughs, heartfelt conversations, and unforgettable moments that have truly cemented our bond. Whether it’s celebrating life’s big milestones or simply enjoying a casual get-together, being around Nelly it’s never is boring moment. I’m honored to witness her journey and be part of these beautiful memories as she embarks on this new chapter. Congratulations to Nelly and Micheal🍾🍾 God bless you union

I met Nelly in the spring of 2021 during our Accelerated Nursing Program at Rutgers. It was during COVID, so everything was online and via Zoom. She was always asking questions, and I knew I had found a study partner. I reached out to her and asked if she would be my study partner, and she agreed. Having Nelly as a friend, study partner, and sister from another mother made the whole program much smoother. Nelly has always been there for me. During my difficult times, she’s just a call away. I remember when I was so broke and couldn’t even fuel my car, Nelly would always come to pick me up from my house and take me to school. She even gave me money to help sort things out, and I will forever be grateful for that. May nothing taint this beautiful friendship of ours. Love you, boo.

I met Nelly 7 years ago at work. We chatted a little, and connected immediately. I invited her to my house for Thanksgiving that year and since then, we have spent most of our special moments together, like birthdays and Thanksgiving. Nelly is one of the most genuine people I know. She is hilarious and always had me cracking up when she is around. I love how honest she is. Our bond is so unique and special, and I'm thankful. I am so Proud of the woman she has become. I am So happy to be included in something that means so much to her. Wish you two love birds a lifetime of happiness. Love Gifty

I met Nelly 7 years ago, around Thanksgiving time. We got along right away. I thought to myself, who is this funny girl in my house? Since that day, Thanksgiving has been our tradition, and we have spent every Thanksgiving together. There is never a dull moment with her; every time we meet, it is always a good time and great laughter. She knows how to make you laugh til your sides hurt. I am proud of Nelly over the past years. She is able to be true to herself at all times, and that's one of the things that I admire about her. I am beyond grateful to know such an amazing soul, and I will always cherish being a part of her wedding day!

16 years of friendship feels like a lifetime, and in many ways, it is. We’ve grown up together, transforming from silly teenagers with wild dreams into adults who’ve faced life’s challenges and triumphs. (Remember our dreams of working in 3rd war countries?) From high school days filled with late-night phone calls, inside jokes, to adulthood, where we’ve cheered each other on through career moves, heartbreaks, and personal victories, our bond has only deepened. I still can’t believe you got someone in high school to call you “sexy Nelly”. You’ve been my confidante, my shoulder to cry on, my partner in laughter, and the person who always knows how to lift my spirit. I love you and the sisterhood we share. Now, as you get ready to marry the love of your life, I can’t help but feel so proud of who you’ve become. You deserve every bit of happiness coming your way, and I know our friendship will continue to grow and evolve, just like it always has.
