We met through a dating app in Colorado, December 2018 when Andrew returned to the states from working. When we first started talking, we made plans a few times to meet in person, but between Christmas and life, we kept missing each other. Once we finally met up for dinner, he entertained me with an evening full of stories about all the places he had traveled to. The whole time I was thinking "Oh man, this guy is ridiculous! Doesn't he know he doesn't need to make up these wild stories to impress me??". And if you know Andrew, you know he has some wild stories about all his experiences! But, as funny as our first date was, we wanted to see each other again. So, the next day I asked if he'd like to go dancing with my best friend and I at the Grizzly Rose on New Years Eve. After that night, we were both hooked! A couple months later, he asked me to be his girlfriend, and in April 2019, he took me home to Delaware to meet his family for Easter.
Early 2020 Andrew was finally home for awhile from working overseas, so we started talking about our future. By about July 2020 we found out that Andrew would be going to Australia next for work, therefore, our plans were put on hold, but by November 2020, I found out I was able to go to Australia as well. That was quite the process so it wasn't until April of 2021 that I got to go. Shortly after I arrived, Andrew had a vacation planned for us to Port Douglas in Queensland, Australia. I swore this was it! He was going to propose to me. Then again, we were going with other people, so I figured this was just going to be a normal vacation. A couple days into the trip, we hiked through this beautiful rainforest, Mossman Gorge. We stopped at this stunning waterfall for a photo and the next thing I knew, Andrew was down on one knee.
