The weather in Foresthill is highly variable in the month of February. There are some years when it has snowed, and there are some years when it has been relatively warm and sunny. You will have to continually check the weather leading up to the wedding date and plan on bringing layers and options. There is a likely chance that it will rain. For the ceremony, there will be umbrellas available to borrow and/or tents that can be placed over the seating area.
Semi-Formal to Formal Wear whatever you feel comfortable in! You can dress it up as much as you would like or keep it on the more casual side. If you want to go all out, consider our wedding theme for inspiration! The ceremony will be outdoors, so be sure to bring layers and/or a coat to stay warm. It might be wet and muddy if it is raining or snowing. For footwear, you may want to consider bringing two pairs, one for the outdoor ceremony and one for indoors. The ceremony grounds include dirt paths, flat stepping stones, grass and mulch. The reception, dinner and most of the event will be indoors and well-heated.
Turbo Team It's the 1980s/90s, take a road trip in a red Lamborghini from the beaches of California to the forests of the Pacific Northwest. Hop over to Tokyo for the weekend and back to Seattle. The welcome reception begins at 2:00 pm at the Forest House Lodge. Starting at 2:00 pm, guests staying at the lodge can also check in to their rooms. You will want to be sure you are at the Lodge NO LATER than 3:00 pm, at which time everyone will begin driving themselves to the ceremony site by following FHL staff. You will not be able to find the ceremony site on your own if you are late. The site does not have an address, and cell service isn't the best there in the mountains.
There is ample free parking around the Forest House Lodge. For the ceremony, you will need to drive your own vehicle to a different location about 5-10 minutes away. The FHL staff will guide you there and instruct you where to park. Following the ceremony, you will drive back to the Forest House Lodge and re-park. I encourage people to carpool to the ceremony site and back to streamline transportation and parking.
Between Auburn and Foresthill, there is a 20-25 minute drive on Foresthill Road, which is a windy mountain road that may be wet and slick due to the season. Please consider this when planning travel and overnight stay. Auburn is the closest town with hotels. Foresthill has some Airbnb/Vrbo's and we may have limited onsite accommodations.
