The Wedding Website of Emily Jane Lewis and Neko Anton Del Forno
On this page we’ll do our best to give travel recommendations and tips to assist you in planning the ultimate Italian getaway. Get to Know the Area Refer to the map above as you explore this section. The City Center (outlined in white) is Sorrento’s heart, filled with restaurants, bars, nightlife, and historical sites. It’s very walkable, and we highly recommend staying here. The waterfront within the city center features many hotels from the list below, offering a convenient base with easy access to everything. Marina Piccola is the main marina, where you can catch ferries to Capri, Naples, Ischia, and the Amalfi Coast. Piazza Tasso, the main square, is a lively hub of bars and restaurants. While popular, it is usually bustling and can feel crowded at times. Corso Italia is a bustling street with excellent dining and shopping, where we’ll likely spend most evenings. Marina Grande is a smaller marina with great seafood restaurants, about a 15-minute walk from the town center.

Travel Concierge

We have an amazing travel concierge that can assist you in booking your travel to and from Sorrento and securing your accommodations. Mariagiovanna (Gió) can be reached by email at info@medinstyle.it or on WhatsApp at +39 338 336 7819. Here’s tip #1. Hotels, bed and breakfasts, apartments, etc. in Sorrento do not release all of their available rooms on booking sites. There is a strong network of travel agents and concierges that facilitate securing bookings. Do not be discouraged if you begin perusing hotels in Sorrento and are met with a “no rooms available” message. Simply reach out to Gió with your desired location, type of accommodation, and budget and she will put together a list of options that meet your criteria. In addition, most hotels allow free cancellation up until a week to 10 days before your check in date. Keeping that in mind, people are constantly booking and then releasing their reservation. If there’s a place that you have fallen in love with check back frequently as rooms often become available.

Travel Tips

Tip #2 The most convenient way to travel from the airport in Naples to Sorrento is via car. Whether you wish to book a private car or a small bus for a group traveling in together, Gió is available to assist. In addition, many hotels in Sorrento offer to coordinate a transfer service for a fee. For those travelers that enjoy having looser travel plans, you can exit the airport and head towards the line of taxis just outside the airport entrance. They do accept credit card but are usually open to negotiating a fixed price instead of running the meter if you have euros on hand. Last summer Neko and I paid a flat fee of €150 cash for a taxi. More tips to come!
