How Big is Antigua?

The Island nation of Antigua and Barbuda is a twin island nation where there are many fun and exciting activities to enjoy. The Island Antigua is where the Sandals Resort is located on the lovely Dickenson Bay, on the north-western end of the island. The Island of Antigua is only 108 sq miles, which means the majority of the island can be reached within a 30 to 45 min drive (with traffic). Therefore, any activity is a short drive away, which makes the entire island available for fun activities at decent prices. The resort has many fun listings of included activities and preferred listings to enjoy.

What currency do they use on island?

Answer

The Island uses Eastern Caribbean currency, commonly called "EC". However, many businesses will readily accept US dollars but will return EC change. The accepted exchange rate is $1 US dollar = $2.65 EC but may vary slightly.

How do I get to Antigua?

Answer

There are regular direct flights to the Island of Antigua from the US and Canada. the earlier you book your travel, the cheaper it will be. If you book your travel with VIP travel, they will schedule your ground transportation for you. Direct flights to Antigua, can be booked easily via major airports like Atlanta, GA, New York, JFK, Laguardia, and Newark International (EWR) airport in New Jersey. Connecting flights are available as well. These are regular flights to the island and are seldom canceled unless due to inclement weather or abnormal circumstances.

How do I get to the resort?

If you book your travel to Antigua with VIP Travel, ground transportation will be provided for free for all registered guests. Please register your stay with VIP travel, and complete the form to begin reserving your room and arranging payment.

How long should we stay?

Answer

The wedding will be held on April 24th, 2024, however, our room block assumes you will be staying at least 3 nights, 4 days (April 22nd, or 23rd till April 26th). However, you can make it a vacation for you and your loved ones. Room reservations will be done with VIP Travel. Please follow the information included.

Can I bring my kids?

We respectfully request no children to attend as it is an Adults Only Resort. We appreciate you making prior arrangements in advance. *The only exceptions are those guest(s) that have their child included on the invitation*

Are payment plans available?

Answer

Reserving your travel and rooming with VIP travel will afford you the opportunity to spread out the cost of this trip. Reserve your rooms and flights, and pay a portion of the cost. This way, you pay the balance off over time. This gives you over 1 year to pay for this amazing trip. All detail will be communicated to invited guests. *Special accommodations will be made for guests who are native to Antigua& Barbuda.

How are room reservations done?

All Sandals Antigua Rooms are to be booked with VIP Travel. They are managing all room reservations for the event, and have competitive travel rates as well. Please do not book rooms directly with Sandals as your room rate and reservation will not be included with the wedding amenities for invited guests. Please follow instructions within the included invitiation.

How many people can I bring?

Answer

Sandals Grande Antigua has a strict 2-person per room policy. meaning rooms booked are to have a maximum of 2 persons per room. Meaning you may bring additional guests, however, please ensure to account for this rooming arrangement. Please ensure to list all attendees via the RSVP so they can be accounted for, and it can be determined if they are welcome to attend. VIP Travel will explain the room policy upon your registration.

Can I stay at another hotel?

We ask all attendees to stay at the Sandals Grand Antigua Resort so we can ensure all attendees are accounted for, and all amenities are received for our guests. Please contact us if special arrangements are needed. *Special arrangements are being made for family members and Antiguan natives in attendance*

I am local to Antigua, how do I attend?

Answer

Local attendees are limited to invited guests only. As we have limited wedding passes available, please communicate with the groom's party, to ensure passes are made available. Only attendees with a designated wedding pass can attend. Please be patient as we are trying to accommodate family within a limited space.

What about Cell phone coverage?

Answer

For those traveling from the US and Canada, please disable mobile data on your phones and 4G/5G tablets to ensure you avoid roaming charges. Please use Wifi where available. Sandals Grand Antigua provides wifi for all guests for the length of their stay.

How will we get information?

Answer

Information will be included in your invitation regarding the logistics of the events at the resort. All guests will be asked to download Whatsapp on their Android or Apple device. We will be using your phone number to contact you on-site for reminders and notices of events on-site. A group for all invited attendees will be provided prior to the wedding. Also, please use the group for any questions you have prior to the event.

What travel documents will In need?

Answer

All attendees from the US and Canada will be required to have a valid and up-to-date passport or the valid US or Canadian Visa to travel from the United States or Canada to and from Antigua and Barbuda. Please verify your travel status before you RSVP and begin travel arrangements.

Do I need to be vaccinated to attend?

Answer

Only COVID-vaccinated travelers will be able to travel to Antigua for the event. You have to have at least 1 of the three major vaccinations for COVID 19. Please contact your travel agent to confirm the details.
