We didn’t exactly fall in love at first sight. We first met in middle school — not as best friends, not as some epic love story in the making… just two kids who knew of each other in passing. If you asked me back then, I probably would’ve called Emmanuel a little dork (sorry, babe ). He definitely wasn’t at the top of my “must hang out with” list. But life has a beautiful way of rewriting stories. By high school, we started eating breakfast together in the Azure cafeteria with Gigi, Cammie, Anderson, and the rest of our table crew. There were no fireworks — just laughter, inside jokes, and a growing friendship. And honestly, that’s the best foundation. After I graduated, we reconnected with what we called “the squad.” From there, we were inseparable — hanging out almost every day, at his house, at mine, shared car rides, just living life together. Somewhere between the car rides, late-night talks, and years of friendship… something shifted. I stopped seeing him as the “middle school dork.” I stopped seeing him as just my friend. I started seeing him as home. We didn’t rush it. We built something steady, something real. And when we finally crossed that line from friends to forever, it didn’t feel dramatic. It felt right. Turns out, sometimes your forever was sitting across from you in the cafeteria all along. 🤍
