A sangeet is a traditional pre-wedding ceremony in Indian weddings. It involves music, dance, and celebration, and is typically held a day or two before the wedding. During the sangeet ceremony, family members, relatives, and friends of the bride and groom come together to perform dances, sing songs, and generally celebrate the upcoming wedding.

What should I wear to the Pithi?

Answer

For women, we recommend going with a lehenga or kurta pajama as they are generally easy to put on and comfortable to wear. Casual western attire (ex. sundress) is also appropriate. For men, we recommend wearing kurta pajamas. Causal western attire (ex. slacks and a button down) is also appropriate. If the Pithi is being held on the same day as another more formal event (such as the Sangeet), you could consider wearing your Sangeet outfit to the Pithi as well.
