Neilsen and Darlean's story is one of faith, timing, & humor. They met at 87th Street Church of Christ after Neilsen had been attending for a few weeks. They still laugh about the moment they made eye contact and Darlean immediately ran away.
Not long after, Neilsen finally asked, “Can we go out for coffee?” He called later that night as promised, their first date followed soon after, and the rest is history.
About a year and a half later, on Darlean’s 30th birthday (July 28th, 2025) Neilsen proposed, and she joyfully said yes.
What makes their story even more special is how God was working behind the scenes the entire time: their families knew each other before either of them was born, and they crossed paths when they were both in their last year of medical and pharmacy school.
God truly writes the best love stories. Neilsen and Darlean are excited to celebrate their union with everyone on August 28, 2026.
