Neil and Parul first met in the 6th grade in an English class at Meads Mill Middle School. They talked very little, but constantly stole glances and smiles at each other from across the classroom. Here, their story began. That summer, they both happened to be enrolled in classes at the local community college. Although they weren’t in the same class, they met each day on the bench outside for lunch. During these lunches, there were very few words exchanged. What they did exchange were bags of Cheetos and Doritos, which they ate in silence together. Afterwards, while being picked up by his parents, Neil would text Parul “that was so much fun”. The following year in school, in the 7th grade, Neil decided to finally ask Parul to become his girlfriend. He gave her a $12 necklace from the store Claire’s and she excitedly said yes. Although this initial leg of their relationship did not last long, it set the spark for what was to come. Fast forward to their senior year of high school. Neil and Parul were once again ready to be “boyfriend-girlfriend”. Neil asked Parul to be his girlfriend, and unbeknownst to them both, that middle school relationship turned high school relationship would be one that lasts a lifetime. They went on to go to prom together before heading off to college. Although attending different universities, they managed to see each other a few times per month and enjoyed their college years together. Soon, they realized that they wanted to be together forever. Neil decided it was time to surprise Parul with the ultimate romantic gesture - a proposal. As soon as he knelt in front of her to ask her to marry him, Parul could only nod and say three words through her tears: Oh my God!! Their wedding is destined to be on May 28 of 2022.
