Wine tasting at a castle? Yes please! The 1918 Cellars Wine Tasting Room at Castle Farms features 11 locally produced wines available for purchase as tastings, glass pours, and bottles. 1918 Cellars also offers a delicious variety of gourmet grab-and-go food options to sustain your visit including starters, salads, sandwiches, and more (with options for kids too). Non-alcoholic beverages are also available, and we have products featured and available for purchase from several other local partners including Northwoods Soda, Cherry Republic, and Great Lakes Potato Chip Company. Castle Farms is our wedding venue and is a historic place with over 100 years of history, self guided and private tours are available as well!
We spent hours here this last summer, sipping on drinks, enjoying lunch and watching all the boats pass through the drawbridge. Definitely the perfect place for a wine and view of the water!
You don't have to travel all the way to Traverse City for a winery (unless you want to!), look no further than Spare Key Winery. At this family owned winery, visitors can sample specialty wines, enjoy the vineyard, and learn how each bottle of wine was made!
Downtown Charlevoix has many cute and quaint shops, easily accessible by walking--scour all of Bridge Street for a fun day of shopping!
Lounge on the rooftop of The Earl and enjoy the gorgeous views Charlevoix has to offer while sipping a delicious cocktail. Sometimes they have live music or a DJ on the patio!
Grab some lunch and head to Fisherman's Island State park to take a walk along the beautiful waters of Bells Bay, or enjoy the sunset. Recommended to bring water shoes if you want to venture into the water since it can be rocky, but along with that, it's the perfect place to hunt for Petoskey stones!
Not only is Castle Farms a beautiful wedding venue (that you'll be at on our wedding day), but it holds over 100 years of history! You can book a private or self guided tour and learn all about the castle's history! Explore the extensive gardens with many paths and photo opportunities, the WWI museum that holds many photos/documents, or follow along the 2000ft model railroad outside the castle! In a historic wing of the castle sits 1918 Cellars Wine Tasting Room along with grab and go food options, check it out! (Listed in this section of the website is info specifically about 1918 cellars)
