Meg and Neil crossed paths many times throughout 2014. Their mutual friends began spending more and more time together, but neither Meg nor Neil had the courage to spark true conversation until one special Philadelphia holiday. The luck of Erin Express 2014, and maybe a little liquid courage, finally brought the two together. From that day forward the two could barely spend any time apart. Until….Neil got a job in Dallas, Texas in Fall 2014. Meg had just started physical therapy school at Jefferson only 6 months prior. Neil’s dream of a career in the golf industry made the move to Dallas a necessary, but difficult choice. Over the next 2.5 years, Meg and Neil spent every Southwest gift card, travel reward and dollar saved to travel back and forth between Philadelphia and Dallas to see each other. While distance was hard and less than ideal, the two developed trust, team work and the ability to compromise that would help to set them up for long term success. In 2017, Meg finally graduated school and made her way to Dallas. The two were ecstatic to finally be in the same place and not have to rely on texting, Facetime and short trips. They quickly developed a life together in Dallas and were grateful for each second they had together after so much time apart. In October of 2019, the couple was planning spending a few days on a small vacation to upstate New York in-between weddings of some of their closest friends. With the majestic autumn backdrop provided by the Otesaga Hotel, Neil got down on one knee and asked for Meg’s hand in marriage. Of course the answer was yes from Meg. After spending two and half years together deep in the heart of Texas, the two once again relocated to Philadelphia to begin their lives together in the city where their love first blossomed.
