A word of advice to aspiring physicians: don't burn the candle at both ends, literally and metaphorically. In the literal sense, it could catch things on fire and cause an excess of $2M in damages to your apartment building, displacing the stars of this love story. Alas, love and tragedy are cousins. So began the romance between Hannah and Adam. Water flooded their shoes, but love flooded their hearts. Legend has it Hannah made the first move, but there is a theory growing in popularity that Adam had a plan all along: phase one, befriend her with Chipotle. As they say, the way to a woman's heart is through her stomach. Fast forward to March 11, 2020. You may have heard that there was news of global proportions that day: K-State won a Big XII tournament game... oh, and the pandemic started. Both events capped Hannah and Adam's first date, which led to their Love Lockdown like a Kanye West track for the next 18 months. There is beauty in the struggle, and they found it. The rest, as they say, is history in the making.

Adam mistakenly thought the greatest challenge would be asking Hannah's parents for her hand in marriage; after all, Greg did threaten to toss him into a wood chipper, never to be found again, if he failed to deliver on his duty as a life partner. Tragically, that was the easy part of this whole thing... Hannah is notoriously meticulous. She would claim she is "particular" but regardless of the euphemism she deploys, it is certifiable fact that she is nearly impossible to outfox: or is she? For 5 months Adam slipped, dodged, and evaded her intuition and was but a fortnight away from bending the knee. Their romance was to reach its crescendo in the Andes of Argentina, but once again, COVID struck back! Ironically, their flights on Delta were canceled by Delta. He found a solid backup plan: a costume party in which he would dress as a groom, and she as his bride. It was the perfect ruse to set the stage for Adam, with the help of Etta James, to ask Hannah to be his wife "At Last". After a deliriously happy hour to themselves, Adam surprised Hannah with their closest friends and family and enjoyed a dinner at 21c Museum Hotel. The next day, a second surprise: brunch with dozens of their friends and family in which there was no lacking of tequila, champagne, smiles, and sunshine. Take that, COVID.
