“Maddie and I had a bonfire at her house and we were telling stories and laughing and noticed the fire was going out and we needed more fire wood. We were looking around for wood and I noticed that there were logs of aspen trees on the side of the barn. I asked maddie if it was ok if we used it and she responded with “I don’t want to burn painted jogs” I was so confused what she was talking about. I then realized that she was referring to the white bark on the logs. She thought that someone hand painted everyone of those logs. I then had to show her pictures and explain to her that it’s natural and that it was the type of tree. We’re always laughing together.”

“Maddie and I met at school our freshman year of college and before classes even started we were best friends. It took only minutes for us to be friends and only 3 months to seal the deal forever. All of my memories with Maddie are filled with so much joy and silliness. One of my favorites is when I went to see her on fall break from school and we sang veggie tales while camping in the tent with her parents! Another is when I took her to the ER in the middle of the night and spent 8 to 10 hours with her laughing and crying with her when she was on morphine. We are absolutely wild together and I would not have it any other way.”

“Maddie and I have been close since Daniel brought her home. Something I love about Maddie is how she has brought me closer to Jesus. Every ride in the car with her is a religious experience because I am sure we are going to meet the Lord whenever she drives. It is truly terrifying but so far we are still alive and I’m excited to be terrified with her for the rest of our lives!”
