Thanks to our close friends, Mendi & Jonah, we were introduced in October of 2013. It was my (Sarah) first semester at the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega, GA and Hunter’s second semester. Hunter and Jonah were in the Corp of Cadets, and I was working with Mendi to be Jonah’s company sweethearts. We made cookies every Wednesday night and went door to door to ask the guys/girls if they wanted cookies. One night, we knocked on Jonah’s door and his roommate Hunter opened the door. I was speechless for some odd reason.... So we basically met by me knocking on his door asking him if he wanted some cookies that I made. Mendi and Jonah talked us into going out on a date and the rest is history.... huge thanks to the Crews family for the push to date each other!

On our 4 year anniversary (Oct. 26, 2017), Hunter took me to the park that was across the street from our apartment when he got off work. We went to this park a few times to just walk around and see the pond, but never thought anything of it. So we went, walked around the pond, and fed the ducks and the fish. As we were walking away from the ducks, that’s when he grabbed my hand and said wait, got down on one knee and popped the question. He had a hidden photographer hiding and capturing the moment the whole time. We celebrating by eating some yummy Rita’s Italian Ice. He later took me to a nice dinner at the Sun Dial Restaurant that night. I also found out later that he had emailed my professor and got me out of my lecture the next morning as well. He did all this while missing the playoff game for Atlanta United, so I think that was the day that he finally put me before soccer. 😊
