It began by none other than a 21st century chance encounter. A handsome bystander with a flirty smile and a snapchat exchange. We had instant chemistry and connection. We could talk and text for hours and it still wasn't enough. Eventually, I decided to give him a chance, we graduated to cell phone numbers and eventually we decided to meet (this time on purpose). I remember it like it was yesterday. I was moving into my new townhouse. First days with the keys, no furniture, no decorations. It was bare walls and baseboards and, much like how I felt, vulnerable. I said, "Well, I just got my keys there's not much to see. If you want you can come since I'm here now," and moments later I was met with a "I'm on my way." I remember his truck pulling up in my driveway and a large pit in my stomach thinking "What if he judges me? What will he think about this place? I have nothing to offer." I welcomed him into my new home, but little did I know that he would soon become exactly that for me. And that was our first date...on the ground...in my empty home...talking for hours. (Obviously, there were many "regular" dates that followed--golfing, restaurants, social gatherings, road trips.) But. . . we have been inseparable ever since that day. Fast forward two and a half years and we are engaged with two boys: Pebbles, the Australian Shepherd, and Maverick, the German Shepherd. Currently, Ainslee practices as an Emergency Medicine PA within Henry Ford Health System and Kevin is a Sherriff serving in Washtenaw County. They are both passionate and high energy individuals with a love for people. P.s. they are still best friends. I thank God everyday for bringing you into my life, and we are so excited to have you celebrate with us in the next step of our story!
