Ireland has always held a special place in Jessica’s heart. It was the setting of P.S. I Love You, her and her mom’s favorite movie—one they watched together countless times. The Christmas before her mom passed, Jessica surprised her with tickets to Ireland so they could finally visit the places they loved so much on screen. Sadly, her mom passed away from COVID while working as a respiratory therapist, and that dream trip never happened. It always hurt Jessica knowing that Nebojša never had the chance to meet her mom. He knew how deeply her mom shaped the woman Jessica is today, and how much Ireland meant to both of them. Three years after her passing, Jessica returned to Ireland with her brother to spread her mom’s ashes, including at the Cliffs of Moher—a place filled with both grief and healing. In 2024, Jessica and Nebojša traveled back to Ireland together. Nebojša planned the proposal there intentionally, choosing a place that was sacred to Jessica and close to her mom’s heart. He wanted the moment to feel like her mom was there with them, in a place that held so much meaning and love. They made their way to a quieter, more secluded path on the Doolin side of the Cliffs of Moher, parking along a farmer’s field and walking past grazing cows toward the edge of the cliffs. A photographer stood nearby as Nebojša asked Jessica to face the water so he could take a photo. As he reached into his backpack, Jessica turned around—and they locked eyes, both knowing exactly what was about to happen. Nervous and overwhelmed, everything else became a blur. Jessica only remembers saying “yes,” jumping up and down, and feeling pure joy. Moments after the photos were taken, a sudden storm rolled in, pouring rain over the cliffs. Laughing uncontrollably, all three ran back to their cars, amazed at the perfect timing—finishing the proposal and photos just before the rain hit. It was a day filled with love, remembrance, and a little Irish magic. One that will forever be the best day of their lives, as they continued their journey through Ireland as an engaged couple—surrounded by love, past and present.
