Our Story... so far

We met one Wednesday night at KidzLife. Actually, that was the first face to face meet. The first ever interaction was Nancy sending me a comforting message after a late night text in a young adults church group chat about my Dad being on a 5 hr wait in the ER due to a kidney stone. The Wednesday night interaction came about from her Windows Laptop on the fritz. She walked up to me with her friend, intending to ask for help. She never got a word out, later claiming she had a whole speech planned out to ask me to help with the laptop but was just too nervous to say anything. Because she already liked me so much and didn't want to mess anything up. WELL... I felt the same feelings for her. I don't think we both knew at the time that we directly reciprocated those feelings of deep love for each other. But, Dad was busy, and I was pretty sure whatever she needed, I could figure out somehow. So I stepped in and offered to work her problem and gave it my best shot. Most of the time when a computer, was doing what Nancy's was doing there's a simple fix. Software update. It worked! For about 5 hours. 😭😭😭 It crapped out completely and we decided to pivot to MacBook. Being a Windows girl tho, she was apprehensive about slamming on the brakes on Windows and making a hard left to using a Mac interface. We ended up meeting again a few weeks later after she got the Mac so I could help her set it up. All went well, Nancy slowly started to pick up on the new interface and we left it at that for the day and parted on a big hug! A few weeks later, I took a big leap. Completely unsure about what she TRULY thought of me at the time and nervous about things going bad, I prayed, took a leap, and asked her if she'd like to come with me to see the new MARVEL Thunderbolts movie. She texted back LITERALLY within 30 seconds of me sending that message, happily accepting the offer! That was our first "unofficial" date. We went to see the movie, went for sushi dinner and boba tea. That outing ended on a hug too. But I really felt like something got going there. She came to Eli's HS grad party and we spent a good bit of time with each other, talking and laughing and catching up (Hadn't seen her much at all since Thunderbolts date). She had a wedding to attend with her Mom afterwards. We texted back and forth for a while and she said she wished she didn't really know how, but wished she had a partner to slow dance with. Both being MARVEL fans, I told her I'd teach her to slow dance but apologized in advance if I stepped on her foot. I got back an "I would like that 🥺" and about 20 crying emojis. I had a feeling that I'd found the one. I told Mom and Dad about the interaction and Mom said that if we really felt that way about each other, to be open honest with one another and begin to "DTR" Define the relationship. I slept on it for that one night, Saturday night. And the next morning at church, June 8th, 2025, I found her after 1st service and asked her out. Poor Nancy, I asked her if we could talk in private and she said she got scared because she thought I was going to tell her I didn't like her. June 14th, we had our first official date as BF and GF. Boba tea, Photo booth, Teso (Japanese store), dinner and Starbucks! It rained while we were out on the patio at Starbucks and we sprinted out to the car. I held her for a while and didn't drive her home until almost 9 because my visibility was bad and I couldn't see 5 feet in front of my car. When it was safe enough to get her home, we drove back to her house and I walked her to the door. She told me to close my eyes on the porch and she leaned in for the first kiss! WELL, I wish I'd manned up and went fo it beforehand, but still a great day!! The proposal came on Thanksgiving of 2025 surrounded by her mom, my family and dad's mom, and a couple friends from church. Watch the video on our wedding gallery. This is our story so far and we're eager to make many more memories and share every one of them!!!!!!!
