In the interest of everyone's health and safety, we encourage those in attendance to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The Castle's staff will be wearing masks and taking all needed precautions. Guests will not be required to wear masks.
Nope. Just come prepared to have an amazing time and eat wonderful food! Oh and did we mention there will be bubbles? So we dare you not to smile.
The dress code is dressy casual. This means dresses, suits, skirts, slacks, trousers, blouse, button down shirt, dress shoes, sport coat or blazer (jacket preferred but not required). Please don't wear: jeans, shorts, t-shirts, flip flops, gym shoes, ball caps or ball gowns - unless you’re a drag queen then darling, you bring it! Be sure to check the weather forecast. September in AL can be unpredictable!
The ceremony will take place outside, rain or shine, in a covered chapel. The reception will take place inside a large air conditioned reception hall.
Folks can take their seats starting at 10:30 am. The ceremony will start at 11:00 am.
When you arrive at The Sterling Castle you will see a parking lot alongside the main house. You can park in this lot, no charge, and then attendants will direct you to the correct entrance.
We wish we could invite everyone we know! However given budget and space constraints, we can only accommodate those who were listed on your invitation.
Please return your RSVP card no later than August 6. We are not accepting online RSVPs.
Brunch and drinks will be served. We've done our best to provide a variety of foods that should hopefully meet most dietary restrictions. There will be vegetarian frittatas, grilled vegetables, shrimp cocktail, a biscuit bar with all the fixings, fried green tomatoes, fruit, cheese, parfaits, deviled eggs, fried chicken & waffles, a coffee bar; a juice bar, Bloody Mary's, mimosas and of course cake!
The Castle is about 15 minutes from the I-65 exit. We suggest you put the address into your GPS enabled device and it will provide you correct directions. There are no surprises and anything special you need to be aware of other than to remember that it's rural AL so enjoy the scenery! We promise you aren't being taken anywhere too remote. There is cell reception and WIFI at the Castle.
