Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Nina Samuta and Connor Skryd
Lake Norman has been special to us since Nina's family moved here in 2019, and we’re so excited to share it with you. With its beautiful shoreline and charming small towns, it’s the perfect spot for a little wedding weekend getaway. And if you’re up for exploring beyond the lake, Charlotte is just a short drive away with great restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. Below, you can find some of our favorite spots to help you enjoy the area during your stay.

On the Water: Boat & Jet Ski Rentals

If you are looking to spend some time on the water, click the link below to find some helpful information on boats and jet ski rentals.

Golf: Mooresville Golf Club

205 Golf Course Dr, Mooresville, NC 28115

Tee off at Mooresville Golf Course, a public course with beautiful views and club rentals available for anyone who wants to join in the fun!

Hiking: Lake Norman State Park

759 State Park Road, Troutman, NC 28166

If you're outdoorsy and love a good hike, Lake Norman State Park is the place to go. It is free to enter the park and utilize its trails. They also have kayaks, paddleboards, canoes, and pedal boats available to rent for $10/hour (open 9am-3pm). Park hours are 7am-8pm in October.

Historic & Charming: Downtown Davidson

Just a short drive from the wedding venue, Downtown Davidson is full of charm. Explore Davidson College, browse cute local shops, or grab a bite at The Pickled Peach or Mandolino's Artisan Pizza. Don’t miss their Farmers Market every Saturday from 9 AM–12 PM– they usually have live music!

Lakeside Eats: North Harbor Club

100 N Harbor Pl, Davidson, NC 28036

Our go-to lakeside restaurant is just a short 10-minute drive from the hotel block. We recommend getting a table outside to get the most of the lakeside views. Other recommendation: - Hello, Sailor (20210 Henderson Rd, Cornelius, NC 28031)

Pre-Wedding Fuel: Summit Coffee

107 E Moore Ave, Mooresville, NC 28115

Just down the road from the church and in the heart of downtown Mooresville, one of our favorite local coffee spots is perfect for fueling up before the big day. They also have a location in downtown Davidson (128 S Main St, Davidson, NC 28036) if you decide to explore that area.

Lakeside Brews: King Canary Brewing Co

562 Williamson Rd, Mooresville, NC 28117

Grab a local craft beer and relax at King Canary Brewing Co.—a fun, trendy spot to unwind during the wedding weekend. Other recommendations (not lakeside): - Overflow (fun rooftop!; 137 Mecklynn Rd, Mooresville, NC 28117) - Side Bar Bottle Company (208 S Main St, Davidson, NC 28036) - Beer Lab by Ghostface Brewing (215 S Broad St, Mooresville, NC 28115)

Shopping: Birkdale Village
