Are you having a Nikah?

Answer

Yes, we are planning to be married in both of our faiths. At this time we are unsure if this will take place privately, or during our reception.

What is a Nikah?

Answer

A Nikah is an Islamic marriage contract that binds a couple in matrimony. It is a significant religious and social event in Muslim communities and is the central part of Islamic wedding ceremonies.

What is a Mehndi?

Answer

A Mehndi is a pre-wedding celebration. It is a festive event where the bride (and guests) have intricate henna designs applied to their hands and feet to celebrate the upcoming wedding. The event usually includes music and dancing and is generally attended by ladies invited to the wedding.

What do you wear to a mehndi?

Answer

Generally traditional south asian style clothing such as a lehenga, anarkali, or salwar kameez is worn. If you are not comfortable wearing south-asian style clothing, you may wear something colorful and festive.

Do you have a hotel room block set up?

Answer

A room block has been set up for The Sheraton Suites Ft. Lauderdale West. The room block is available at a discounted rate from 04/22/25 to 04/30/25. Please visit the travel page to visit the link. The discounted rate will be available to book until 03/24/25

Are there any other nearby hotels we can stay at?

Answer

Our travel page lists out additional hotels near our ceremony and reception spaces. The links provided may include a discounted rate, but no rooms are being held. The last link offers the option to search for additional hotels.

What airport should I fly into?

Answer

If you wish to fly in to the airport closest to our ceremony and reception spaces, we recommend flying in to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport

Will the reception be outdoors?

Answer

Cocktail Hour will be indoor/outdoor, weather permitting. The reception itself will be indoors, but we will have access to the outdoor area.

What time should I arrive to the reception?

Answer

You may begin arriving at 5 pm. Our cocktail hour will start at 5:30 pm.

Will there be parking at your reception?

Answer

Valet will be available, however, the venue offers self-parking.

Are kids allowed?

Answer

While we love your little ones, we respectfully request no children at our wedding. Thank you for making arrangements so you can celebrate with us!
