It always seemed like the world wanted us to meet. Our childhoods were sprinkled with similar destinations, being in the same places at almost the same time. The fates worked to get us to the same university, in similar friend circles. At one point, Kim even had the same exact dorm room and bed as Nate, only one year after he did. Inevitably, in 2017, our paths crossed through a mutual friend. We started to see each other more often, eventually sparking conversation. It was through long distance texts, calls, and Snapchats that we developed feelings for each other. In less than two months, Kim and Nate were inseparable. We spent three years living semi-together and overcoming the challenges of late college and early adulthood, eventually packing up to Brooklyn and moving in together. None of it came easy--there were many stressors along the way that made it difficult for each of us individually. But we were always together, supporting the other and helping them through. In our time in Brooklyn, Kim left journalism, attended and graduated from Graduate School, and kicked off her teaching career. Nate got his first non-Lifeguarding job and spent years building up his skillset. In 2024, we decided it was time for something new. After 7 years together, Kim and Nate are embarking on two new adventures: moving to a new state, and entering marriage. We are so excited to celebrate alongside our closest friends and family, desperately counting down the days...
