Naz and Kofi both happened to be in Toronto during the summer, and by chance, it was the last night in the city for both of them. Naz had every intention of staying in and ordering room service, but her sister convinced her to go out instead. Naz, her sister, and a friend ended up on King Street for dinner and a few drinks. At one point, they stopped by a restaurant bar simply to use the bathroom. While her sister and friend were in the bathroom stalls, Naz struck up a conversation with a group of girls she had just met. After chatting for a bit, the girls invited them to join their table. When Naz, her sister, and her friend walked over, she realized whose table it was. It was Kofi’s. What started as a spontaneous night out turned into an effortless connection. After returning to their respective cities, Naz and Kofi stayed in touch through FaceTime dates that were fun, natural, and immediately felt right. Kofi knew from their first FaceTime that Naz was the one. When Naz visited New York for the first time, everything clicked even more, and they both knew this was it. Six months later, Kofi bought a ring. And here they are. And as a final lesson from that night: always say yes to a table invite. You never know who you’ll end up meeting.
