Ybor City is great for night life but also has lots of other fun activities to try. Looking for some history? Check out the Ybor City Museum State Park. Feeling Artsy? Ybor is the new home of the Museum of Photographic Arts. Whether you are looking for a chill place to grab a coffee, smoke a cigar, or do a little thrift shopping, Ybor has all of that and then some. We recommend Blind Tiger for coffee and Yuppi for the best catfish in town.
Sparkman Wharf is a vibrant spot in Channelside. It's got food trucks, a beer garden, bowling, and tons of restaurants near by. There's usually live music or something fun going on here. If there's not a performance, grab a beer and hang out on the lawn. The street car has a stop here so definitely utilize this to avoid having to deal with Parking.
The development of Water Street is very new and very busy! This spot is near Sparkman Wharf and the Aquarium. There is also a street car stop near here. Whether you enjoy coffee, ice cream, eating, or just having a fun place to hang out; Water Street will have something for you.
This waterfront park is conveniently located next to several restaurants, the Tampa Museum of Art, and the Tampa River Walk! This park regularly has cool events so check out their website to see if there is anything going on during your visit!
If you feel like getting in touch with nature, take a drive to Lettuce Lake Park. This park is about 15-20 minutes from downtown Tampa and is worth the short drive if you need a break from the downtown scene. This park is $2.00 CASH to get in so do not forget your dollar bills. This is definitely one of my favorite spots in Tampa.
Enjoy some under the sea adventures at The Florida Aquarium. This aquarium is fun for all ages, conveniently located near Water Street and Sparkman Wharf. Don't care for crazy parking? The TECO streetcar stops here too so no need to deal with the hassle! Just make sure you park somewhere next to one of the other stops (like the garage by Crunch Fitness in Channelside - free for 2 hours).
