9:00 am
The traditional Hindu wedding ceremony begins with a Milni ceremony. Milni is the Sanskrit word for "coming together" and represents the union of Nayna's and Michael's family. Before the wedding ceremony, Nayna's family will greet Michael's family at the entrance and exchange garlands to celebrate their two families coming together. Following the Milni, the ceremony will begin. During the traditional Hindu wedding ceremony, Michael and Nayna will be seated under a mandap, or a covered altar with 4 pillars (representative of the support of the 4 parents who raised them). The priest will walk them through the wedding rituals, and you will be able to follow along with the program on your seat. Lunch to follow. Attire: We recommend wearing traditional Indian attire (sarees, lehengas, kurtas, sherwanis). Formal attire is welcomed if you do not have Indian attire.
5:30 pm - 11:30 pm
Join Nayna and Michael on the dance floor to celebrate their love story and all you beautiful people that are a part of it! Attire: There will be time between the wedding ceremony and reception for those who would like to change from their ceremony attire, but this is not required. For the reception, we recommend formal cocktail attire/Indian attire (suits, tuxes, gowns, cocktail dresses, lehengas, sarees).
