Naylani loves Latin dancing, and Preston had just finished his Spanish-speaking mission in Anaheim, California, 6 days prior. Excited to listen to Spanish music and meet new people, they both headed towards the MC at BYUI, Tuesday, September 24, 2024, for Latin Dance Night. The university's highly anticipated "Date Night" was coming up that Saturday, and it was all anyone was talking about. After both dancing with a few people, Preston tapped on Naylani's shoulder and asked her for a dance. There were instant sparks. Both considered the other entirely out of their league. After dancing a few songs, Preston asked Naylani to the upcoming Date Night, which caught her completely by surprise. They spent every day that week leading up to the event together. Date Night came and went, but the pair would stay together from that day forward for the rest of eternity.
