What should I wear for the Wedding Day?

Answer

Both of our wedding ceremonies will be traditional and culturally significant, so we kindly ask that guests wear Indian Attire. Be colourful! For the Sikh Ceremony happening in the Gurdwara: Modest clothing is required out of respect for the sacred space and your head must be covered. Women should ensure their shoulders, back, and stomach are covered. A dupatta or scarf should be worn over the head and shoulders while inside the Gurdwara. Men will be provided with a head scarf upon arrival, which must be worn during the ceremony. Shoes must be removed before entering the prayer hall. For the Hindu Ceremony: There is no requirement to cover your head or shoulders, though traditional Indian attire is still encouraged. What is proper Gurdwara etiquette?

If you've never been to a Gurdwara before—don’t worry! Everyone is welcome, and it's okay if this is your first time. Here are a few simple things to keep in mind:: ・Please remove your shoes before entering the prayer hall. ・Cover your head (scarves will be provided if needed). ・Sit quietly and respectfully during the ceremony—men and women typically sit on opposite sides.
