How We Met

Navaeh's Side of the Story

Almost 4 years ago, I decided to go to a church event called Fine Arts. While at the two-day event, I kept bumping into a boy I thought was very cute and sweet. He was nervous and made every type of small talk possible. To my knowledge, all of these run-ins were completely coincidental. It wasn't until the last night of the event that a little girl tapped me on the shoulder and said, "My brother thinks you're cute!" (If you know the Rowells, it's easy to know this was his younger sister Franci.) However, before I had the chance to respond, she ran away! Later that night, I was approached by a boy... nope... not Rocco. Instead, it was Rocco's friend Mason who began asking me all sorts of questions before inviting Rocco into the conversation and allowing him to introduce himself officially. By the end of the night, we had exchanged numbers per my request. ;-) Now, here we are.

How We Met

Rocco's Side of the Story

I was at a church event called Fine Arts. After all the work with my dad was done, I, my brother Bruno and my friend Mason all were looking forward to some fun, and then I saw her. She was beautiful, unparalleled. I knew I had to talk to her, but one problem. I've literally never talked to a girl once in my life! So, all throughout the event, I would find myself trying to talk to this girl (to this day, I still say they were all chance meetings, but who am I kidding? They were definitely all on purpose). When the event ended and everyone started to go home, I decided to make one more push, and then, with every fiber in my being, I choked. I chickened out! I said I wasn't going to do it. Then, to my horror, I see my little sister Franci sprinting toward this girl, loudly exclaiming, “My big brother thinks you're cute!” Surely he will man up now, you say? Nope. I had to get my buddy Mason to start up the conversation. After they talked for a bit, I made my way over and introduced my red-faced self. I definitely had the courage to ask for her number by the end as well! (Lie) Now, here we are.
