Friends in high school ... College sweethearts ... Lost each other at 25 years old ... Spent 3 years apart ... Back together ... Married … Done

Scenario - Roger and Annette have been hanging out for a few months. Studying together and occasionally grabbing a bite to eat. We thought, what the hell, let’s go out for a date and see what happens. His point of view - Annette is cool, she’s cute, I definitely can see us dating. I asked her out and she literally threw every reason why it wouldn’t work out with me. So I thought, "she definitely wants to go out with me 😃.” Friday night approaches and, on the day of, she cancels 😔. She says she’s “busy” 🤔. I said fine and we canceled our first date . I called her up later that night and ask her what she’s doing and she mentioned she’s free. In my mind, I thought you were “busy”😒. I think it was cold feet. We ended up labeling it “hanging out” vs a date and went to play pool. She noticed how amazing I was and haven’t looked back since. 😃. Her point of view - Oh god, I was a wreck 😳. This is the first time we were ever bridging the gap from friendship to dating. All my friends liked Roger and encouraged me to go out with him. We’ve always had great chemistry but was really nervous to move forward with anything. When we talked about it, he totally sold me on saying yes. I definitely had buyers remorse and cancelled. To my surprise, Roger still called me to go “hang out” which I obliged. I noticed he tried to make it casual but also tried to make some moves on me . We went to shoot pool and he tried to teach me how to shoot by putting his arms around me. To be honest, as nervous as I was, I didn’t hate it 😊. I thought, if I make this shot, I’ll give him a chance. Years later … I wish I missed that shot 😜. JK, he's the love of my life.
