We met while attending the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, but could have met earlier. Natalie was born in Florida and lived in Orlando until the age of 8. Danny grew up in New York and moved to Florida for high school. We actually would’ve attended the same high school, but turns out our time was slated for the future. Let’s set the scene, it’s Pittsburgh the year is 2006; Danny just like the rest of the world has fallen in love with Justin Timberlake’s “Sexy Back” and is growing his hair out.. it’s awesome (terrible). Natalie was working at the school’s work study department, the cage/cave, and is transitioning in to the photography department, determined not to lose any ground. After a lot of flirting (bugging Natalie at work) we discover we just crossed paths in Florida, share the same humor and instantly clicked. We spend our time shooting together, exploring, laughing and both struggling at art school math. It might be just a ”met in college” story, but it’s ours. From wide eyed teens, to learning how to “adult” in your 20s we really grew into the people we are today because of each other. We’ve so grateful for our journey together and can't wait for this next chapter.

The proposal happened during our trip to Portland, Oregon. One of our last days we spent at the coast. On our way back towards the city we stop at a little vista called Hug Point. There was a large group of kids playing volleyball on the beach. We were exploring closer to the water and noticed on the other side of the rocky coast line there was another beach. It was quite peaceful and beautiful. I was running around taking photos and when got back to Danny he was fumbling with his pants pockets and got down on one knee. I said yes with excitement and here we are! The coast is a place Danny and I long to have in our lives. It might be because of our childhood roots, growing up near the ocean, but ultimately its beauty will always have us by the heart strings. We want our wedding to have the same feel as our engagement, an intimate ceremony between the ocean and forest.
